Midsummer Musing
The Muse Agency Press is delighted to announce our Midsummer Muse will take place on Wednesday 24 June 2026, 12 noon-1:30pm (UK BST)
’Tis the longest, the longest of all the glad year,
The longest in life and the fairest in hue,
When day and night, in bridal light,
Mingle their beings beneath the sweet blue,
And bless the balmy air!
George Meredith, The Longest Day
Today was our final session of the Summer Muse. We’ve spent the last few weeks writing about the colour blue, about windows looking out on a summer sky, about making things, about noise and quiet, about nature taking over, and the language of flowers. We’ve got astronomical, and made wild lists, we’ve soared high, and we’ve thought about what the world looks like when we’re not here.
We were inspired by writers and poets, including: Donald Adamson, Linda Black, Amal El-Mohtar, Baz (Barry) Fentiman Hall, Esther Morgan, Nina Mingya Powles, Maggie O’Farrell, Rebecca Solnit, Hàn Mǎc Tù, Janice Warman, and The School of Life.
You can explore our Summer Reads here.*
It was such a joy to write together.
We’re delighted to announce we will be returning for an extended Midsummer Muse to celebrate the summer solstice on Wednesday 24th June, from 12 noon until 1:30pm (UK BST). Online via Zoom.
There will be exercises to spark new pieces of writing and the session will be designed for writers of all levels. There will be an opportunity to share what we write for those who would like to.
If you would like to write in an encouraging and supportive group, do consider joining us for the Midsummer Muse.

“I have so loved writing with the group during the last Muse. Thank you both for being so gently inspiring. It’s so good to be in the beautiful safe space you have created and to feel part of that non-judgy community.” Nancy
“Each and every session with The Muse Agency is an utter delight! The topics, themes, and prompts are inspiring and can fire the imagination of even the rustiest creative writer, as I was. Sharing work is welcome, but never required, and the space is held with kindness and deep joy. These sessions make a powerful difference to writers at any stage of their writing career.” Kylie
“The Muse Agency classes are really special. In this friendly online group, my writing became freer, more poetic and I generated new material I was surprised by and often happy with.” Laura
