Midsummer Musing
The Muse Agency Press is delighted to announce our Midsummer Muse will take place on Wednesday 18 June 2025, 12 noon-1:30pm (BST)
“The sun had set, but now in June there was of course no darkness at night to speak of. The night was pale and dreamy and full of magic.”
Tove Jansson, Moominsummer Madness
As May draws to a close, it was also the last session this lunchtime of the May Muse. We wrote about wanting, about what carries us, we thought about the distance between people, about rooms, about departures, we looked up at the moon, we wrote a wild word posey, and we practised listening. We were inspired by writers and poets, including: Claire Askew, Margaret Atwood, Anne Bailey, Elizabeth Bowen, Anthony V. Capildeo, Samantha Harvey, Jane Hirshfield, Pauline Oliveros, Rainer Maria Rilke, Olga Stehlíková, and Emily Jungmin Yoon. It was such a joy to write together.
We’re delighted to announce we will be returning for an extended Midsummer Muse to celebrate the summer solstice on Wednesday 18th June, from 12 noon until 1:30pm (UK BST). Online via Zoom.
If you would like to write in an encouraging and supportive group, do consider joining us for the Midsummer Muse.
The Midsummer Muse is a 90 minute creative writing workshop with exercises to spark new pieces of writing. Designed for both beginners who are just setting out on their creative writing journey, and for writers who would like to use an occasional session to spark some new writing.
We will write together and there will be an opportunity to share what we write for those who would like to.
